接著要說的是一個很重要的招魚祭儀式,但每個村莊舉行招魚祭的日子都不一樣,而我們共同的目的都是為了招飛魚而舉行儀式,

The next thing that I want to talk about is a very important Beckoning flying fishing ceremony. Every village does it differently, but our common purpose is to call on the flying fish, and therefore we have the ceremony.

飛魚季

 

我們說的招飛魚儀式,是指每一個漁團都會攜帶一隻雞,若不是雞就是豬,但未曾看過有人(宰殺)用羊來招飛魚的情形,

This beckoning flying fish ceremony that we speak about is where every fishing group will take a chicken, and if not a chicken then a pig, although I have never seen anyone (kill) use a goat to beckon the fish.

當所有(男)人在海邊到齊以後,就拿(提)起雞或豬開始招喚飛魚,

Once all the (men) people all arrive at the seaside, they take (pick up) the chicken or pig and start to call on the flying fish.

 

o pey-pey-pangáy-an na no nang am, “inio a among do

    意思, 意義       它     那個       你們    魚

picia-eve-evek na am, among do Jiranmilek, among Jiayo a,

   各地方       它      魚        東清村      魚    椰油村

among do ka-lowd-an n(a) or(i) am, m-ai kamo do ka-vano-an

魚        深海處    它     那個       來    你們      各海邊 

namen sia”,

我們   它

 

它的意思是說,”各處的飛魚啊,或是在東清村的飛魚,或是在椰油村的飛魚,或是在遠處的飛魚,請你們都游到我們的港口來,”

The meaning of it is, “flying fish from everywhere, or flying fish from Jiranmilek, or fish from Jiayo, or fish from far away, please swim to our harbor.”

那樣     真正的           不是     話         那個    說出來  

da, o pey-pey-pangay-an na no… no…. no ipanci da no am-rara

他們     意思             它               說   他們    招        

so among no rayyon eya,

    魚       飛魚季  這

這是真正的.. .., 那些話不是真要說出來, 那是..是..是招飛魚的意思,

This is real….., you do not really say these words, that…yes…it is meant to call on the flying fish

飛魚季     海邊

 

在港口招喚飛魚的時候, 講那些話是因為……,

When calling on the fish in the harbor, you say this because…

 

“kaji namen nazinana om-onot d(o) among no rayon do

就不  我們    ?        跟隨          魚       飛魚季           

pic-iyl-ili-an na, no si  abo o among do Jiraraley am,

各村            它  若 如果 沒有    魚       朗島村               

m-angey namen pa saon Jiranmeylek a, m-angey namen pa saon

去        我們 還      東清村           去       我們   還            

do Jiayo am Jiratey a mey om-onot d(o) among no rayyon”,

椰油村     漁人村    去   跟隨          魚       飛魚季

 

是因為:“如此,我們就不需費力去各村的海域(追隨)捕飛魚; 因如果朗島村沒有飛魚,我們還得划船去東清村,去椰油村,去漁人村追隨飛魚捕飛魚”

Because “by doing this, we will not have to spend energy to go to different villages and ocean precincts (chasing) to catch flying fish; if Jiraraley doesn’t have any flying fish, we must still row out to Jiranmeylek, to Jiayo, or to Jiratey to find and catch the flying fish.”

飛魚季    來         海港      它     一     村 

 

各部落都希望飛魚來各自的村港, 這就是招飛魚祭的意思,

Each tribe hopes that the flying fish will come to their own harbor, so this is the meaning of the beckoning flying fish ceremony.
