The
reason to go to the source of the water (the irrigation system) is to see
whether the source is leaking. If there are any leaks, then you must block them
because otherwise little crabs will crawl into the holes and if there are
holes, then the water will flow out through the holes. If this is the case,
then there will not be enough water flowing into the taro fields that are
farther.

blocking the hole, the next thing is to walk along the irrigation system to see
if there are any places that need to be flattened all the way to the taro field
that you are going to work in. If you do this, then the water will be enough.

When
you are getting ready to plant taro, you must not plant them too close
together, or when they grow the fruit will be thin and small, like this (draws
in the air). The space between the taro should be about twenty centimeters. In
this way the taro that you plant will grow bigger.

reason that you have to do all this is because you like it to become an abandoned
field. This is what people in the past did, and is what is done by people who

planting the taro, if you find that the root area of mother ball has grown new
shoots (new roots), then you need to cut them off, because this way the taro

withered leaves that you cut off should not be thrown in the field, but must be

the taro field.

aren’t just one or two taro fields. When you go to work in another taro field,
and see that the taro is sprouting, you will think, and say, “Oh, it is growing
shoots again,” and cut it off, so that it does not grow any shoots.

are trying to reorganize your taro field, then the taro stems(young taro shoots)
can be used to plant, and the taro that grows from it is as big as a taro that

taro grows along with the rayom grass, it will develop taro sickness. When
digging up and cutting taro, and if there are lines on the taro leaves and
stems, then it means that the taro has a sickness, and should be thrown away
immediately. That taro must not be replanted in the field.
