1.vineveh, zangkap: ji moa no mipatanggah a tao,

香蕉 荖藤 不 種 屬格 還可以生孩子的 繫 人

makaseslin so tangtanggahan sia koan da,

排擠 斜格 生孩子 他 說 他們

[譯:香蕉及荖藤:還想生孩子的人不可以種香蕉,種了不易生子(不孕)]

As for bananas and piper betels, if you still want to give birth to children, you should not plant them. It will make it difficult to conceive (infertility).

2.o pinapo rana ya am, ikongo ji mimoai so pinapo?

主格 鳯梨 已經 這 助 為什麼 不 種 斜格 鳯梨

manalo so tao, o pinapo ya am, ji awagwag,

使死 斜格 人 主格 鳯梨 這 助 不 荒廢

o manalo am, manmanma pa o tao a,

主格 剋死 助 較先 還 主格 人 助

amian pa o nimoa a pinapo.

有,在 還 主格 所種的 繫 鳯梨

[譯:鳯梨呢,不種鳯梨的原因是會讓種的人很快死掉,因為鳳梨不容易荒

廢(枯死); manalo就是人早都死了,鳯梨還在的意思]

As for pineapples, the person who planted them will be short-lived because the pineapple trees do not die easily. The word “manalo” means that the pineapples that were planted are still alive but the person who planted them has passed away.

3.o aniyo rana ya am, ji mimoa so nioy,

主格 椰子 已經 這 助 不 種 斜格 椰子

ta malahet o nioy a,

因 使死 主格 椰子 助

ya asa o ka ji da ngalaman no kanakan,

一 主格 連 不 他們 走路 屬格 小孩子

akma so pinapo a manalo so tao,

像 斜格 鳯梨 繫 剋死 斜格 人

[譯:也不能種椰子,種椰子不好, 因為種了，孩子就不會走路; 還有就是

跟鳯梨一樣,種了會讓人先死]

As for coconuts, if people plant them, their children won’t be able to walk. It’s like planting pineapples, which will cause people to die first.

4.avaka: ji mimoa so avaka o mipalaviin,

橡膠樹 不 種 斜格 橡膠樹 主格 育嬰的

ta ji awagwag ori, ta manalo so tao,

因 不 荒廢 那個 因 剋死 斜者 人

[譯:橡膠樹,孩子還很小的人,不可以種此物,因為它不易死,種了以後,

人會比它早死]

As for rubber trees, people who have very young children should not plant them because the trees won’t die easily. If people plant them, they will die earlier than the trees.

5. o ji bakbaki a ji oyai no anak am, ji da mamnoi,

主格 不 打 繫 不 生人氣 屬格 孩子 助 不 他們 長大

o nakem da am, soliin da o niapoan da,

主格 心靈 他們 助 不滿 他們 主格 父母親 他們

o ikadoa na am,

主格 第二 它 助

[譯:不打不罵小孩的原因是,小孩子會長不大。第二個是,他們的心裡

對父母會產生不滿]

One should not scold or beat one’s children for fear that the children won’t be able to grow up. The second reason is they will hold grudge against their parents.

6.ano macilolo sira ori a kalavi da am, to na mioli,

若 跟隨 他們 那個 繫 哭 他們 助 就 已 折返

ta no to ngaroi sira ori a omlavi am,

因 若 就 離開 他們 那個 繫 哭 助

kaziknan sira omlavi am, …… sira,(帶子結束)

累了 他們 哭 助 他們

[譯:他們若哭著隨後跟來,就乾脆折返, 因為若是繼續讓他哭著跟隨,

哭累了, 他們就會..]

If they are crying while following you, you might as well go home with them. If you allow them to continue crying while following you, they will… after they are exhausted from crying.
