1.koan da nokakoa am, “o   ya da kakadayan so poapoaw na

    說  他們  以前    助   主格 助 他們  每項     斜格  肺      它

 像   那樣  繫  像   那樣  助   若  去 他們 拿   那個 助

to da ngamaoga ori a asa ka viniay” koan da.

就 他們   變成    那個 繫 一  連    豬      說   他們

The people in the past would say, “The reason that they prepare the pig’s lungs and other organs is because of this and that. Because when they take it, it will become a complete pig.”

 

2.am no si abo o makakaday a oraoran no viniay ito am,

  但  當  若  無 主格  每一項   繫   內容   屬格  豬    那個  助

kongoen da? Mamaog a asa ka viniay o abo so poaw?

  怎麼用 他們  可變成  繫 一  連   豬    主格 無 斜格 肺

toda maog a viniay o abo so rala manga anak ko?

  就  變成  繫  豬   主格 無 斜格  血  親愛的  孩子  我

am ori   o  kakadayan da sia.

助  那樣 主格    逐項    他們 它

[譯:若是豬的內臟不全的話,他們怎麼拿? 沒有肺怎麼能算是一隻完整

的豬呢? 沒有血如何變成一隻完整的豬?所以才要備齊每一個內臟]

If the organs of the pig are not complete, how can they take it? If there is no lung, then how can it be considered a complete pig? If there is no blood, how can it be considered a complete pig? Therefore you need to gather all of the organs.

 

3.ya mangap do yatas[1] na ito, ya mangap do pingping[2] na,

   助   拿    處格  參註1它 那個  助    拿    處格  參註2    它

o    ya hapen do  ya lilikey a asa ka korang ori am,

主格 助    拿   處格 助  小小的   繫 一  連   母豬   那個 助

toda maog ori a asa ka korang do  mi da hapan sia

 就   變成  那個 繫 一  連   母豬   處格 去 他們  拿   它

am  ori   o  kakadayan da sang manga anak ko.

所以 那樣 主格   逐項    他們 那個  親愛的  孩子 我

[譯:yatas部位要給一塊,pingping部位也要給一塊。雖然從豬的每個

部份只切一小塊作為祭品,但是他們去拿的時候,它會變成一隻豬,所以每

個部份都要給一點]

You need to give a piece of the yatas, and a piece of the pingping. Even though you only need to give a small piece of each part of the pig as a sacrifice, it will become a complete pig when you take it to them. So you must give a small piece of every part of the pig.

 

4.panginaran ya  o  kapitoan manga anak ko,

如同        助 主格   月份名          孩子 我

mo macita o   ko nivonong jito ang?

你  看見   主格 我    分配     那裡  助

Ko ji zoaya na karaw no  vonong  da,

我      很美  它    ?    屬格 分配的 他們

ta  o ipanci a akmi sasasowden koan na,

因 主格  講    繫  像    祭品          說  他

no patekehen da   o  kataotao no  tao am,

[譯:我是因為想到祭神節。你有沒有看見我分贈(分配)的禮肉,我不是在

誇耀我給的禮肉很多;因為常常我們所得到的禮肉就像祭品那樣少,而我也

做了那樣的準備,我是為你叔叔他們設想,我心想,說”不知他們有沒有祭

品”,所以才這樣作分配,給他們的那些禮肉,並不是真正的可食用禮肉]

I was thinking of god worshipping day. Did you see the gift meat that I gave out (divided among people)? I am not trying to boast about how much gift meat I had. Often, the gift meat that we get is almost as little as the sacrifice. I had also done those preparations, because I was thinking about your uncle. I thought, “I don’t know if they have anything to sacrifice,” so I divided it up in this way. The gift meat that I gave them was not gift meat that could be eaten.

 

5.ta no mian so mazaw sira maran mo am apia am,

   因  若  有  斜格 送禮   他們  叔叔  你  助  很好  助

ta ko katenngan o zipos ta am,

因 我     知道    主格 親戚 我們 助

ori ko to vonongi so ya ta  niahap a korang ito,

那樣 我  就   分配   斜格 助 我們 殺的   繫  母豬   那個

ta ko ipatak, ta “apia no ya mian so sowden da am”

因 我  為..著想 因   怎麼辦 若 助  有   斜格 祭品   他們 助

am   ori  o  ipanci a akmi “sasowden” koan na.

所以 那樣 主格  講    繫 像        祭品      說  他

 

 [譯:因為,我不知道有沒有人送你叔叔他們豬肉,但我知我們的親戚中

(沒有人殺豬),所以我才把我們殺的豬做了這樣的分配,因為我想,”不

知他們有沒有祭品”,準備的這些東西就叫做”sasowden”]

I did not know if anyone had given your uncle and his family any pork, but I did know that among our relatives (no one killed a pig). I divided up the pig that we killed in this fashion, because I thought, “I don’t know if they have anything to sacrifice.” What I prepared is called “sasowden.”

 

6.o   ji mazos am, “abo o   kanginanawan do kahasan ito,

  主格 不  祭神  助    沒有 主格    險境        處格  深山   那個

am o   mirayon” koan da, taosia o  ariis do kalawdan

但 主格  捕飛魚     說  他們   不要  主格  海流 處格  深海處

na? am  ori ji mialaoji no ji nimazos koan da,

它  所以 那樣 不  遠海捕魚  屬格 不  祭神      說  他們

ori   o  ko ipanci,

   那樣 主格 我    說

[譯:有人說,”上山或捕飛魚哪有什麼危險的”,因此就不祭拜神,難道海

上的海流就不是危險嗎? 所以若不祭拜神就不要去遠海捕魚]

Some people say, “There is no danger in going into the mountains or catching flying fish,” so they do not sacrifice to the gods. Do they not know that the currents in the sea are very dangerous? Therefore, if you do not sacrifice to the gods, do not go far into the ocean to catch fish.

 

7.ikadoa na no  ko ipanci am, o   pazos ya am ngiling

第二   它 屬格 我    講    助  主格  祭神  這  助   運氣

no  papatow, ori mikadoa saon na angayan am,

屬格  月份名   那樣  共兩個    助   它   意義    助

 [譯:第二個我要說的是,這個pazos可以說是關乎飛魚季的運氣,這就

是pazos的意義]

The second thing that I want to say is that pazos can be seen as related to the luck of flying fish season. This is the meaning behind pazos.

 

8.ikadoa na no pazos ya am, kamo to ngosok jia sira

    第二   它 屬格 祭神  這  助   你們  就  下去    這  他們

apo ya, ta nio kabedbed am, am no kamo mazos

孫子 這   因 你們 集體,全部 助   但  若  你們  祭神

do ingato am, ta yai nio do jia?

處格 上面   助   不  來  你們 處格 這

ji kamo ngian do dang sira apo manga anak ko a,

確實 你們   在   處格 那裡 他們 孫子 親愛的  孩子 我  助

[譯:另外,關於這個祭神一事, 你們(父子們)今天是來這裡舉行祭神儀式,  但是你們若是在上面(你家)舉行pazos的話,你們就不可以來我們這裡了,你們應該在上面舉行儀式才是]

On the other hand, as for worshipping the gods, you (father and son) have come here today to hold the god worshipping ceremony. If you hold pazos up there (at your house), then you cannot come here to us. You should stay up there and hold your ceremony.

 

9.ikalovot   no asa ka vahay do pazos ya am, 

 到齊的原因 屬格 一  連    家  處格 祭神節 這  助

“ikatay no asa ka vahay a  ji akpeh ang” koan na,

    ?    屬格 一  連   家    繫  不  聚集   助     說  他

ta to sia na ngisan sira wari mo ya,

因  就 他們 已   過夜   他們   弟弟 你  這

da  keyan do ilaod am, ji macikpeh do  mazos ta,

他們  在   處格  台灣  助       與..團聚 處格 祭神節 我們

bekena micitavay a, “ya nimakongo a na kabo

 應該是   聚在一起  助    助   怎麼了   繫  他 沒有

do  jia ang” am ori ikalovot do vahay,

處格 這  助   所以 那樣 全體,團聚 處格 家

[譯:所以全家人一起過pazos節是因為有人說,”若不一起過pazos

節,以後團聚會不容易”]

Therefore, the reason that the whole family will hold pazos together is because someone said, “If you do not hold pazos together, there is very little chance to get together otherwise.”

 

10.a kamo to ngai do jia, ta kamo ji manaod

助 你們 就   來  處格 這   因  你們  不  祭神

do ingato ori am, no kamo manaod do ingato am,

處格 上面   那裡 助   若  你們  祭神   處格  上面   助

ta  ipacikpeh   nio  do  jia?

為何 與..聚在一起 你們 處格 這裡

[譯:你們來這裡,是因為你們在上面沒有過pazos節之故; 如果你們在

上面有過pazos節的話,你們怎會來這裡跟我們聚在一起呢?]

You come here because you do not have pazos up there. If you were having pazos up there, how would you be down here with us?

 

[1] Yatas 是指殺豬羊時,以肚臍向兩邊延伸約食姆指撐開的寛度, 由脖子到腰下(尾端)切下來的

部份稱之。

Yatas indicates the name of the piece of meat that you cut out from the neck to below the hips (tail), starting from the belly button, about the width of your two thumbs spread out.

[2] Pingping na是指肚子兩邊的肉。

Pingping na is the meat on the two sides of the stomach.
